About Janet Kaplan
Janet's personal and professional experience has convinced her that talking to someone trained and experienced who can listen - and respond - to you in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment, will strongly support your emotional and mental well-being. Talking therapy can help you take stock of what is important to you, assist you in moving forward and improve the quality of your life.
She works with people on a long or short-term basis. She also offers 16 sessions as an approved Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy practitioner. Janet works as an individual practitioner in private practice and as a Senior Counsellor in the NHS.
She also worked as a Honorary psychotherapist in Adult Mental Health at Guys and St Thomas' Hospital, London.
Janet supervisors practitioners in the NHS and in the private sector. She is registered with the British Association for Psychoanalytic and Psychodynamic Supervision. As well as being an accredited member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists and a registered member of the British Psychoanlytic Council.

Personal Approach
I hold a Masters of Science in Psychodynamic Counselling from Birkbeck College, London University, a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling from Birkbeck College, London University and a Foundation Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Regent's College, London. I am a regular attendee on the Lecture Course at the Institute of Psychoanalysis. I have a BA (Hons) from Leeds University and a Post Graduate Diploma in French from Strasbourg University, France.
Janet is an Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and works to the Association's Code of Ethics. She is also a Registered Member of the British Pyschoanalytic Council and a Member of The British Association for Pyschoanalytic and Pyschodynamic Supervision having qualified with the Society of Analytical Pyschology. She holds a Enhanced Disclosure Certificate. Alongside her private practice, Janet has presented a workshop to GPs on counselling.
